Lakers Host Parkside in GLIAC Quarterfinals Tuesday

ALLENDALE – The Grand Valley State women's soccer team is set to begin postseason play in the GLIAC quarterfinals when they host Parkside Tuesday (Nov. 12) afternoon. Kickoff is set for 5:00 PM at the GVSU Soccer field.
 
GVSU shutout Parkside in both matchups this season. The Lakers defeated the Rangers 3-0 in Allendale in the first game before claiming a 2-0 win on the road in Kenosha. GVSU is now 17-6-1 all-time against Parkside.
 
GVSU finished in second place in the GLIAC standings with an 8-1-5 overall record and 11-1-6 overall mark. The Lakers finished the season with a 1-1 draw against Northern Michigan and 0-0 draw against Michigan Tech.
 
The Lakers outscored their opponents 26-7 in the regular season with 11 clean sheets. Emma Chudik scored four goals and dished out two assists for 10 points, while Ryann Fetty scored three goals and dished out four assists for 10 points. Ella Kleiver and Alli French have both scored four goals on the season. Taylor Reid leads GVSU with five assists and has seven points on the season. Goalkeeper Cailynn Junk has made 16 starts in goal posting a 9-1-6 record with 44 saves and eight individual shutouts. 
 
Parkside finished in seventh place in the GLIAC standings with a 3-6-5 record and 5-8-5 overall mark. The Rangers have been outscored by their opponents 20-10 this season. Emily Mikkelson leads Parkside with two goals and four assists for eight points. Ava Rizzitano has scored two goals and dished out one assist for four points on the season. Goalkeeper Lola Minic has made 99 saves on the season with seven shutouts.
