The 16^th-ranked Grand Valley State wrestling team captured a pair of wins at the NCAA Super Region 3 duals that were held at Tiffin University. The Lakers claimed a 22-21 victory over #5 Lake Erie College and a 42-15 win over Thomas More. GVSU, which improves to 9-2 in its first season of varsity wrestling in 32 years, will next be in action Thursday (Jan 18) at the Notre Dame Duals. 
 
The Lakers trailed Lake Erie 18-0 after the first four matches, but GVSU received a forfeit win at 157, followed by a big 2-0 victory by freshman Trammel Robinson at 165. #3 Josh Kenny received a forfeit win at 174 and senior Seth Konynenbelt picked up a huge 8-0 major decision at 184. Sophomore Wyatt Miller tallied an 8-1 victory at 197 to give GVSU a 22-18 lead heading into heavyweight. Freshman Brett Boudreaux dropped a 2-0 decision, but the Lakers picked up the dual win. 
 
Grand Valley State picked up seven bonus point wins versus Thomas More en route to the victory. 

Robinson, Kenny, Konynenbelt and Miller all went 2-0 and produced six bonus point wins on the day.
