After taking down Davenport in a sweep on Tuesday, the Lakers improved to 10-1 overall and 4-1 in league play. The Lakers are the best hitting team in the nation, swinging at a .315 clip this year, with Sarah Wight, leading the GLIAC at .389, while Meghan O'Sullivan, Brianna Stawski, and Jordyn Gates are also inside the top ten in the stat. On the flip side, the Lakers also hold the nation's best opponent hitting percentage, as they are holding opposing teams to just a .068 hitting percentage this season. Stawski has played a big role in that, as she tops the GLIAC with 1.18 blocks per set, with Wight also inside the top ten at seventh with 0.85 blocks per set.

Parkside enters the weekend winners of five of their last six, and they are tied with the Lakers for second in the conference standings at 4-1. The Rangers have defeated SVSU, Northern Michigan, Michigan Tech, and PNW, with their only league loss coming against Ferris State. Ava Irvin is sixth in the GLIAC with 145 kills and 3.15 kills per set. Also, sixth in the GLIAC is setter Karlee Lois with 408 assists, while the Rangers as a whole, lead the league with 743 digs. Last year, the Lakers beat Parkside in both matchups, winning in four sets in Kenosha, then in a sweep back in Allendale.

After starting out 3-0 in GLIAC play, the Pride have dropped two straight to Michigan Tech and Parkside and now sit at 3-2 in the league and 8-5 overall. They are the top serving team in the conference and the ninth best in the nation, serving 125 aces this season, good for 2.31 per set. Anika Huelskamp, Livia Thomsen, and Summer Clark all have tallied over 20 aces this fall. Huelskamp (149) and Arra Cottrell (133) lead the team in kills, as setters Marina Gronkiewicz and Olivia Brooke are the team's top two setters. The Lakers swept the Pride in both matchups a season ago, only allowing PNW to score more than 20 points once in a set.
