ALLENDALE – The No. 8 Grand Valley State women's soccer team lost 1-0 against Ashland Thursday at the GVSU Soccer Field. The Lakers start the season at 0-1, while the Eagles begin the season 1-0.
Ashland would score the lone goal of the game in the ninth minute off a Laker own goal. The Lakers outshot the Eagles 11-5, 6-1 shots on goal. GVSU also led 6-3 in corner kicks.
