UNIVERSITY CENTER—The Grand Valley State men's basketball team lost to Saginaw Valley, 93-80, on Thursday night inside of the James E O'Neill Jr. Arena.

Luke Toliver led GVSU (15-10, 9-6 GLIAC) with 15 points on a 5-for-10 shooting night.
Marius Grazulis led the Lakers in rebounding with six and
Trevor Smith had a team-high five assists.

After a turbulent second half that saw GVSU down as many as eight points, the Lakers tied the game with 3:22 remaining. After the tie, the Cardinals (12-13, 7-8) made a pair of triples to take a six-point lead with 1:23 remaining and SVSU wouldn't look back.

GVSU got 39 points from its bench, which was a wide margin over SVSU's bench, which only contributed 12 points. GVSU outscored the Cardinals 40-34 in the paint. Â

The Lakers play their final regular season road game at 3 p.m. on Saturday in Detroit, taking on Wayne State.
