ALLENDALE – The Grand Valley State men's basketball team fell 73-63 to Lourdes in the final game of the 2023 calendar year at the Fieldhouse Arena Saturday (Dec. 30) afternoon. The Lakers fall to 4-7 on the season.
Trevon Gunter led the way for the Lakers with 20 points on 8-15 shooting including knocking down three triples.
Ethan Alderink notched 11 points on 3-9 shooting and knocked down 5-6 shots from the free throw line.
William Dunn added 10 points and hauled in a team high nine rebounds.
The Lakers shot 40.7% from the field and 28.6% from behind the arc. Lourdes shot 46% from the field and 33% from behind the arc and knocked down 15-18 from the free throw line.
The Lakers will resume conference play next week when they host Michigan Tech on Thursday (Jan. 4) at 8:00 PM and Northern Michigan on Saturday (Jan. 6) at 3:00 PM at the GVSU Fieldhouse Arena.
