Grand Valley State dropped a 7-6 decision at Harding Saturday afternoon in NCAA DII Quarterfinal action. Harding advances to NCAA DII semifinal action at home next Saturday, while the Lakers end the season 11-2.
Harding scored the game-winning touchdown with a 15-play, 73-yard drive as quarterback Cole Keylon scored from 1-yard out with 3:52 left in the game. Grand Valley State kicked two first-half field goals to take a 6-0 lead into the lockerroom. Senior PK

The GVSU defense limited Harding, the nation's leading rushing team (448.0 ypg) to 205 rushing yards on 62 attempts. Senior LB

Trace Hrgich averaged 48.4 yards on his five punts with a long of 68 yards and three inside the 20 yard line. Grand Valley State was flagged for 10 penalties (85 yards), while Harding's only two penalties were delay of game penalties to run the clock. In a historic note, no other infractions were called on the Bison in the 129-play game.
