ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Grand Valley State men's basketball team is back home for a nonconference matchup against Rochester. Tipoff is set for 7:00 PM at the GVSU Fieldhouse Arena.
GVSU is 2-3 on the season and are coming off a 76-69 loss at Hillsdale on Saturday. The Lakers are averaging just over 78 points per game shooting 45% from the field and 39.8% from three. GVSU is averaging over 41 rebounds per game while holding their opponents to just over 29 per game.
Five Lakers are averaging double digits in scoring through the first five games.
Marius Grazulis leads the Lakers in scoring, averaging a double-double with 15.6 points per game and 10.2 rebounds per game. Grazulis has notched a double-double in three consecutive games after scoring 18 points and hauling in 10 boards at Hillsdale Saturday.
Britain Harris is averaging 13.4 points per game while shooting 40% from the field. Harris leads the team with nine steals on the season and ranks third with eight total assists. Williams Dunn has notched 10.6 points per game and is second on the team with 6.2 rebounds per game.
Mason Docks and
Trevon Gunter are both averaging just over 10 points per game. Gunter has shot 50% from the three going 11-22 from behind the arc.
Rochester enters Monday's contest undefeated with a 7-0 record. The Warriors are averaging just under 85 points per game shooting 47.7% from the field. Rochester is led by sophomore guard Gunner Walters who is averaging 14.7 points per game. Walters is shooting 56.5% from the field and 50% from behind the arc. Junior Brody Parker has notched 14 points per game on 41.6% shooting from the field.
