No. 9 Women’s Soccer Drops 1-0 Decision vs No. 19 Northern Michigan

ALLENDALE – The No. 19 Grand Valley State women's soccer team fell 1-0 Sunday (Oct. 15) afternoon against No. 19 Northern Michigan at the GVSU Soccer Field. The Lakers fall to 7-2-3 on the season and 5-1-3 in the GLIAC.
 
GVSU outshot Northern Michigan 7-6 and 4-2 on goal, while also holding a 5-3 corner kick advantage. Both teams went into halftime scoreless, but Northern Michigan would find the back of the net in the 59th minute to take a 1-0 lead.
 
The Lakers would get some chances late but would not be able to find the equalizer. Taylor Reid and Emma Chudik each notched two shots with one on goal. Kacy Lauer and Mackenzie Jones both recorded one shot on goal, while Claire Breault added a shot. Isabel Imes got the start in goal and made one save. Jones and Lauer each saw all 90 minutes of action. 
 
The Lakers will be back on the road next weekend when they travel to face Saginaw Valley State on Friday (Oct. 20) at 1:00 PM and then will travel to Big Rapids to face Ferris State on Sunday (Oct. 22) at 1:00 PM.
