Important information for your upcoming event Saturday, September 17th – #2 GVSU Football vs. Lincoln (CA):


Weather Forecast: Partly cloudy and 80 degrees
 
4:00 PM: Parking Lots Open
Parking lots A/B/C/F/G are closed throughout the day and open at 4pm. Paid parking is no longer available, but there will be free parking in lots D & H. Each car must only take up one space and can not hold spaces for others. If you have a parking pass, please have it ready when you arrive to campus. For those with Gold/Blue/Black lot parking, please keep your hang tag up throughout the game.

4:30pm: Laker Family Day Pre-Game Tailgate Begins
Fans that have already purchased the tailgate package can check-in at the tent outside of the Northwest doors of Fieldhouse Arena in Lot C (near the three large basketball banners). No walk-up sales will be available.
 
5:30pm: Gates Open
Plan to enter the stadium EARLY as a capacity crowd is expected.
 
Wear: Laker Blue
 
Tickets: You should already have your tickets. They can be accessed via your gvsutickets.com account or order confirmation e-mail. For Saturday's game, we suggest downloading and printing your tickets on regular sheets of paper, but you can also view and scan tickets on a mobile phone. A detailed "how-to" video is available at gvsulakers.com/digitaltickets.
 
Fans with General Admission Tickets: Can watch from any lawn berm. All seats are accounted for by other fans. You may bring blankets to sit on, but lawn chairs are not allowed.


The Game
#2 Grand Valley State will host Lincoln (Calif.) in the annual Family Day contest. Kickoff is set for Saturday (Sept. 17) at 7 p.m. in Lubbers Stadium.  

The Series
• This will be the first-ever meeting between Grand Valley State and Lincoln. 

• GVSU is 3-3 all-time versus programs from the State of California. The Lakers are 2-2 vs. UC Davis and 1-1 vs. Azusa Pacific.

Through two games and 28 drives, the Laker defense has...

• Limited its first two opponents to 126 rushing yards on 46 attempts (2.7 ypc).

• The Lakers have forced 11 three-and-out drives. 

• Held opponents to 23 drives that have consisted of six plays or less.

• Limited opponents to 15 drives that have produced 12 yards or less.

• CSU-Pueblo rushed for 75 yards on 19 attempts, 71 of which came on two rushes. The Thunderwolves rushed for four yards on 17 carries.

• CSU-Pueblo tallied 221 yards on 52 plays (4.2 ypp) versus GVSU, 105 of which came on three plays (71 rush/34 pass). The Lakers limited the Thunderwolves to 116 yards on 49 plays (2.3 ypp). 
• 4 drives resulted in negative yards.
• 6 drives resulted in three plays and a punt.
• 9 drives resulted in 12 yards or less.
• 10 drives were four plays or less.

• GVSU limited CSU-Pueblo to nine first downs.

• The Laker defense has forced five turnovers in two games (3 fumbles/2 Int)

• The GVSU offense is 9-for-9 in red zone scores, 8 of which have resulted in a touchdown.

• The Laker offense is averaging 201.5 yards per game rushing and 202.5 yards per game passing (404.0 ypg). 

• Junior RB Tariq Reid has rushed for 174 yards (87.0 ypg) and three TDs in two games. Reid has rushed for 1,308 yards and 12 TDs in his career.
