BOLIVAR, Mo. - The #6 Grand Valley State women's tennis team fell to the #2 seed Southwest Baptist in the NCAA Midwest Regional Tournament 4-2 Saturday (May 7) at John A. Bryant Tennis Center in Bolivar, Missouri. The Lakers finish the season with a 15-7 record. 

Southwest Baptist claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. Taylor Barrett and Estefania Hernandez claimed a 6-1 win at No. 3 doubles. Marija Leko and Marily Canellopoulos dropped a tough 7-6 decision at No. 1 doubles. Vasileia and Vera Griva lossed a tough 7-5 decision at No. 2 doubles. On the singles side, Marija Leko claimed a 6-4, 6-2 straight set win at No. 2 singles. Taylor Barrett picked up her 14th singles match win of the season with a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 4 singles. Marily Canellopoulos dropped a tough three set 1-6, 6-3, 6-3 decision at No. 6 singles.
