GARY, Ind. - The Grand Valley State baseball team fell to Purdue Northwest 11-3 in the GLIAC Tournament Friday (May 13) at U.S. Steel Yard Stadium in Gary, Indiana. The Lakers were eliminated from the Tournament with the loss and finished the season with a 30-20 record. 

Both teams were scorless after the first five innings before Purdue Northwest scored six runs in the top of the sixth. Purdue Northwest added another run in the seventh off a solo home run to take a 7-0 lead. The Lakers answered in the bottom half of the frame with three runs. Junior Spencer Nelson got the Lakers on the board with a sacrifice fly to center field to score sophomore Connor Schuman. After a Kyle Nott walk, senior Christian Faust singled to score schuman and sophomore Nathan Logan singled to center field to score Nott. Purdue Northwest would score four runs in the ninth and woul dhang on for the win. 

Collin Bradley got the start on the mound and was tagged with the loss (6-4) after tossing 5.1 innings pitched allowing six runs (zero earned) on six hits, while striking out three batters. Faust and Logan each went 2-5 with an RBI, while freshman Brendan Guciardo batted 2-4 with a walk.
