ALLENDALE, Mich. -The Grand Valley State Lakers men's and women's track and field team end the three meet weekend with three school-records and 29 NCAA DII qualifying marks for Nationals.

Brandon Miller brought his indoor national championship success to the outdoor season as part of the men's record-breaking 4x100m relay team.

Myles Rhodes, and
Jalen Kyles clocked in a school-record time of 40.71 at the Bobcat Invitational on Saturday, March 26. Miller also placed fifth in the 100m with a time of 10.43, the second best time in school history and is currrently ranked eighth in DII. In the 400m, Rhodes placed fourth with a personal-best time of 47.67 followed by Harkey in sixth with a time of 47.75. The two men now hold the seventh and eighth fastest time in school history.
Makiyah Smallwood placed sixth in the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.34 and is now ranked 10th in the nation.

Myles Rhodes broke the 4x400m school-record at the Texas Relays on Friday, March 25 with a time of 3:09.65.
Isaac Harding set the school-record in the 10,000m finishing 10th at the Raleigh Relays on Thursday, March 24 with a time of 28:25.98.
In Raleigh,
Dennis Mbuta carried on the Lakers success placing fourth out of over 150 athletes in the 800m with a time of 1:51.20. Mbuta's time is currently ranked eighth in DII.
Taryn Chapko carried the women's team placing 19th in the 800m with a time of 2:09.46. Chapko starts the outdoor season ranked second in DII with her provisional time.
Myles Kerner closed out the Texas Relays placing ninth in shot put putting a distance of 18.43m.
The Laker men now have 22 NCAA DII qualifying marks for National with eight weeks left in the regular season. The men's team is currently in contention of winning the triple crown as the 2021 Cross Country Championships and the 2022 Indoor Track & Field Championships.
