The 31-2 Lakers will advance and face the No. 3 seed Glenville Pioneers in the Final Four matchup on Wednesday, March 23, at 6:00 p.m. CST (7:00 p.m. EST) at the Bill Harris Arena in Birmingham, Alabama. This will be the third Final Four appearance in GVSU women's basketball program history, with only one appearance in the NCAA DII Women's Basketball Championship, where the Lakers took home the national title in 05-06.

The Lakers were led by junior Emily Spitzley in the 67-44 victory over Missouri Western. Spitzley finished with 20 points, followed by junior Hannah Kulas and freshmen Ellie Droste and Hadley Miller who each chipped in 10 points a piece. The 33-1 Glenville Pioneers won the Atlantic Regional Tournament and are coming off of a 103-56 victory over No. 6 West Texas A&M in the Elite Eight yesterday.

The Lakers have been recognized as the No. 1 scoring defense in the country all season long as they now face the ultimate test against Glenville State, the No. 1 scoring offense in the nation. The Lakers are holding teams to an average of 49.6 points per game while the Pioneers are scoring an average of 96.3 points per game.
