Grand Valley State dropped a 24-21 decision to Ferris State Saturday afternoon before a crowd of 13,001 in NCAA Division II Quarterfinal action. The Lakers finish the year 12-1.
Ferris State got on the board first with a 1-play, 3-yard drive for a touchdown following a blocked punt. The Lakersevened the scored with a 4-play, 60-yard drive that junior QB
Avery Moore finished with an 8-yard TD run. Moore added a second rushing touchdown to culminate an 11-play, 65-yard drive to give GVSU its first lead of the game (14-7). Ferris State tied the game midway through the third quarter with a short scoring drive after taking advantage of the field position game.
Grand Valley State regained the lead early in the fourth quarter after senior defensive back
