ALLENDALE-- The Grand Valley State men's basketball is set to take on McKendree at 2 p.m. on Sunday inside of the GVSU Fieldhouse Arena. The matchup can be seen live online via FloSports with a paid subscription. The game will be aired on radio on The Ticket (106.1 FM) with Bryan Fongers on the call.

GVSU is a week removed from its first GLIAC win of the season against Davenport. The Lakers beat the Panthers, 87-73, last Sunday afternoon. Isaiah Carver-Bagley earned the first double-double of the season for the Lakers, scoring 16 points and collecting 10 rebounds. It's the first double-double from a GVSU player since Feb. 26 when Jake van Tubbergen had 16 points and 12 rebounds against Saginaw Valley State. 

The Lakers (5-6, 1-2 GLIAC) fended off every push from Davenport (2-7, 0-3 GLIAC) in the second half. GVSU had a 9-0 run over a 2:39 span in the early goings of the second half, but Davenport wouldn't go away. The Panthers cut the Laker lead to just five with 3:37 to go, but the Lakers didn't allow another Davenport field goal from that point on.

SCOUTING THE BEARCATS
McKendree has seen an up-and-down start to its season. The Bearcats dropped their first three games of the season, including losses to GLIAC members Northern Michigan and Michigan Tech. McKendree has since won four of its last six games. The Bearcats' most recent result was a loss to Southwest Baptist, a common between GVSU and McKendree.

McKendree's season didn't start the way they wanted it to, dropping its first three games. Two of those games came against GLIAC members Northern Michigan and Michigan Tech. The Bearcats are one of the country's highest volume teams in terms of 3-point shooting. McKendree averages 29.4 3-point attempts per game, which ranks ninth in the nation.

The Bearcats have a trio of players scoring 13 points or more. Eric Powell II and Bryson Bultman are averaging 15 points for the Bearcats, while Milos Vicentic is averaging just over 13 for McKendree. Bultman, a 6-5 guard, averages over seven rebounds per game as well. Bultman is a double-double threat, for he scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds against Rockhurst on Dec. 1.

DOUBLIN' IT
Isaiah Carver-Bagley notched the first double-double of the season on Sunday against Davenport. He scored 16 points and collected 10 rebounds for the Lakers. FOLLOW THE NUMBERS
Shooting percentages have correlated with GVSU results so far this season. When the Lakers shoot better from the field, they are 5-1. On the flip side, when the GVSU opponent shoots better from the floor, it is 0-5 on the season. Another key metric this season has been rebounding. Four of the Lakers' five wins have seen GVSU outrebound its opponent.
