Grand Valley State (15-2-4) was selected as the NCAA Division II Midwest Region #1 seed it was announced by the NCAA selection committee Monday (Nov. 7) night. The #5 Lakers receive a first-round bye and will host the winner of the #4 Maryville (Mo.)/#5 Northern Michigan contest Sunday (Nov. 13) at 1 p.m. The Maryville/Northern Michigan first-round matchup will take place Friday (Nov. 11) at the Laker Soccer Field beginning at 11 a.m.

The two-time defending and seven-time National Champion Lakers' have earned the No. 1 seed in the Midwest Region for the seventh consecutive tournament and 14th-out-of-the-last-15 overall. GVSU is 59-11-7 overall in NCAA Tournament action with 12 consecutive Midwest Regional titles and 15 overall. 

GVSU won its 17th GLIAC regular season championship and defeated Northern Michigan 2-1 to capture the program's 15th GLIAC Tournament Championship in head coach Katie Hultin's first year.
