THE GAME
#1 Grand Valley State will host Wayne State in the final regular season home game of the 2022 campaign. The Lakers enter the game 9-0 overall and 4-0 in GLIAC action, while Wayne State is 1-7 overall and 0-4 in GLIAC action. Grand Valley State will honor the 2002 National Champion football team at halftime.Â
THE SERIES
Grand Valley State leads the all-time series by a 37-6 margin and have won 32-of-the-last-33. The Lakers claimed a 48-9 victory over the Warriors earlier this season in Detroit. GVSU has won two consecutive matchups after dropping the 2019 meeting 31-17 at Lubbers Stadium. GVSU is 17-3 at Lubbers Stadium and 20-3 at Wayne State. The average margin of victory in the last 33 games for the Lakers is 39.2-13.1 and GVSU has scored 40 or more points 13 times and held WSU to 10 points or less 12 times.Â

Grand Valley State claimed a 42-7 GLIAC win at Michigan Tech. Junior QB
Cade Peterson was named the GLIAC Player of the Week after completing 18-of-19 passes for 304 yards and two TDs. Peterson also rushed for 64 yards. His 94.7 completion percentage set a GLIAC and GVSU single-game record.
Jaylon Tillman hauled in 10 passes for 191 yards, while
Kyle Nott led the rushing attack with 76 yards and a TD on three carries.Â
• Grand Valley State has now been ranked #1 in the country for 90 weeks, which is 30 more than any other Division II team in the country. The Lakers are 83-6 as the top-ranked team in the country.Â
