The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced today that Grand Valley State junior quarterback
Cade Peterson has been named the GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week for his GLIAC and GVSU record-setting performance in the #1-ranked Lakers' 42-7 victory at Michigan Tech.
Peterson completed 18-of-19 passes for 304 yards and two TDs, while rushing for 64 yards on six carries. Cade set a GVSU single-game record by completing his first 16 passes, while his 94.7 percent completion percentage also set a GLIAC and GVSU single-game record. Cade also eclipsed the 1,000-yard career rushing mark, becoming just the fourth Laker QB all-time to rush for over 1,000 yards and pass for over 4,000 yards. Peterson completed 12 passes of 10 yards or more, including eight of 15 yards or more at Michigan Tech.
Grand Valley State will host Wayne State in a GLIAC tilt Saturday at 3 p.m. The Laker football seniors will be honored prior to the start of the game, while the 2002 National Champion football team will be honored at halftime.
