GVSU Track & Field Welcomes New Sprints & Hurdles Coach

ALLENDALE, MICH. – Grand Valley State Track & Field recently appointed former Wisconsin Lutheran Track & Field Head Coach, Eric Kramer as their new sprints and hurdles coach for the Lakers' upcoming 2022-2023 season. 
 
Head Coach Jerry Baltes stated, "We are thrilled to having Eric join our GV Track and Field Family. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our sprints/hurdle squad. We are looking forward to the energy and commitment to our student athletes' overall success that he will provide each and every day!"
 
Kramer comes into the Grand Valley State program with an extensive background serving as an assistant coach in a variety of Division I, II and III Track & Field programs and coaching 10 Conference Championship teams throughout his career. Most recently, Kramer resided at Wisconsin Lutheran College as their Track & Field Head Coach for almost 3 years where he recorded 27 school records, 13 Individual Conference Champions, 60 All-Conference Athletes, 11 National Qualifiers and 2 All-American athletes. 
 
Kramer was a 4-year member of the Track & Field team at Saint Joseph's College where he competed in sprints and hurdles, holding the school record in the 110m hurdles and decathlon as well as a 3x NCAA DII National qualifier in the hurdles. 
 
Coach Kramer stated, "I'm very thankful to Jerry Baltes & the entire hiring committee for the opportunity to work with the sprints & hurdles student-athletes at Grand Valley State University. The success of the Track & Field programs and the construction of facilities from when I was competing as a visiting student-athlete to where things are now is amazing.  I'm excited to now be a part of the great staff here and look forward to helping build continued growth & success for our student-athletes." 
 
The Grand Valley State Track & Field team will begin their season at the GVSU Holiday Open on December 9th
