KENOSHA, Wis. – The No. 6 Grand Valley State women's soccer team dropped a 3-1 decision on the road Friday (Oct. 21) afternoon. The Lakers fall to 10-2-4 on the season, while Parkside improves to 6-10.
In the first half, Parkside jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the 10' minute and held onto the lead at the break. The Lakers led 9-2 in shots after the first 45 minutes of play and 4-0 in corner kicks. In the second half, the Lakers came out with a flurry of scoring chances with one shot being saved and another shot hit the cross bar.
The Lakers would find the equalizer in the 64' minute to tie the game at one.
Cate Brown placed a great ball into the box where Bearden was there to head it in for her ninth goal of the season. Parkside would retake the lead six minutes later in the 70' minute and would add an insurance goal in the 72' minute. The Lakers would get a few scoring chances, but Parkside was able to hang on to the 3-1 win.
The Lakers outshot Parkside 19-4, 7-3 on goal and had an 8-0 corner kick advantage.

Kacy Lauer each had three shots, while
Taylor Reid and
Kennedy Bearden each had two.
The Lakers are back in action this Sunday (Oct. 23) when they travel to Hammond, Indiana for a matchup against Purdue Northwest. First kick is scheduled for 3:00 ET / 2:00 CT at Dowling Park.
