Grand Valley State leads the all-time series with Northern Michigan by a 25-17-1 margin, having won six consecutive and 17-of-the-last-18. Northern Michigan is playing in Lubbers Stadium for the first time since 2017. The Grand Valley State-Northern Michigan series has gone in cycles over the years. NMU won 12-of-the-first-13 meetings between the schools, but the Lakers' rebounded and went 7-1-1 from 1989-1997.
