THE SERIES
Grand Valley State leads the all-time series with Northern Michigan by a 25-17-1 margin, having won six consecutive and 17-of-the-last-18. Northern Michigan is playing in Lubbers Stadium for the first time since 2017. The Grand Valley State-Northern Michigan series has gone in cycles over the years. NMU won 12-of-the-first-13 meetings between the schools, but the Lakers' rebounded and went 7-1-1 from 1989-1997. The Wildcats won three straight meetings (1998-2000) prior to the Lakers' 11-game winning streak from 2001-2011. GVSU averaging 44.5 points in the last 15 meetings, while yielding 13.5. GVSU is 24-5-1 vs. NMU since 1989.

• Senior RB Jack Provencher has rushed for 316 yards on 34 carries and is averaging 9.3 yards per carry...Rushed for 171 yards and three TDs on his last 12 carries (14.2 ypc.). Rushed for 95 yards on four carries with a 78 yard TD at AIC...Rushed for 76 yards and one TD, while catching three passes for 49 yards and a TD at Ferris State...Became the eighth player in GVSU program history to rush for over 1,000 yards (1,214) and catch 50 or more passes (52) in his career (457).

• Sophomore WR Jahdae Walker leads GVSU in receptions (20), receiving yards 399 yards (20.0 ypc) and receiving TDs (4). Walker is averaging 57.0 yards receiving per game...He hauled in four catches for 132 yards vs. Mines and four for 97 yards vs. Pueblo.   

• Sophomore WR Jaylon Tillman hauled in a career-high five catches for a career-high 99 yards and a TD at Wayne State...Tillman ranks third in receptions (13) and yards (188) for the Lakers.  

• Senior WR Jacob Miller has seven receptions for 34 yards and one TD this season...Hauled in a 58-yard TD pass vs. SVSU...Caught 49 passes for 682 yards and eight TDs in his career.

• Sophomore WR Cody Tierney ranks second in receptions (17), yards (251) and TD catches (2) this season...Recorded first 100-yard receiving game in his career with three for 101 yards and two TDs at AIC..Tierney has 51 career receptions for 662 yards and four TDs. 

• Sophomore WR Kyle Nott has three carries for 23 yards and a TD, while catching six passes pass for 70 yards...Completed a 15-yard pass to Avery Moore...Nott is averaging 14.4 yards per touch in his career.

• Redshirt freshman punter Trace Hrgich is averaging 43.6 yards per punt with a long of 61 yards...Hrgich has dropped seven punts inside the opponents 20 yard line, with four over 50 yards and eight being fair caught...Named GLIAC Special Teams Player of the Week after averaging 48.5 yards on four punts vs. SVSU...The 48.5 ypp average ranks sixth all-time in a single-game.  

• Sophomore PK Kollin Kralapp hit a career-long 40-yard field goal and was 9-fo-9 in point after attempts versus Lincoln...Named the GLIAC Special Teams Player of the Week...Kralapp is 3-for-3 this season and 5-for-5 in his career in field goals.

• Junior LB Abe Swanson leads GVSU in tackles with 53, while recording 4.0 TFL (-14), five QB hurries and one interception...Named GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week after recording seven tackles, 1.5 TFL (-6) and recovering a fumble at Ferris State...Named GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week after his 12-tackle, 1.0 TFL (-5) and one interception performance vs. SVSU...Swanson has 179 career tackles, 17.0 TFL (-68), 4.5 QB sacks (-25) and three interceptions in his career...Named GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week five times in his career.

• Sophomore SS Damonte McCurdy ranks second on the squad in tackles with 33, while picking off one pass and recording four pass deflections...McCurdy has 88 tackles, 4.5 TFL and two INTs in his career.  

• Redshirt freshman CB Terez Reid has 19 tackles, 2.5 TFL (-6) and one PBU...Recorded five tackles and 2.0 TFL (-5) at Ferris State.  

• LB Jake Archbold has tallied 14, while also recording 2.5 TFL (-6) and .5 QB sacks (-2) in 2022. 

• Sophomore CB Nyzier Fourqurean has 18 stops, one interception, one fumble recovery and a team-high eight pass breakups this season...Tallied three pass breakups and picked off a pass vs. SVSU...Notched three pass breakups at AIC...Recorded four tackles and a TFL (-1) at Ferris State. 

• Senior LB Damon Wesley has 21 tackles and 2.0 TFL (-8)...Wesley has 74 stops and 3.0 TFL in his career. 

• FS Cole Patritto has recorded 11 tackles and tallied one pass breakup this season...Recorded 7.0 tackles vs. SVSU. 

• Anthony Cardamone has 17 tackles, 3.5 TFL (-24) and 2.0 QB sacks (-22) this season....Cardamone tallied 4.0 tackles, 1.0 TFL and a QB sack vs. SVSU.

• Kollin Kralapp's 40 field goal vs. Lincoln was the first time since 2016 that GVSU has connected on a field goal of 40 yards or more. Joel Schipper converted a 47-yard field goal in 2016.

• Twenty-six different defenders have recorded a tackle for loss this season (-215), while 17 have tallied a QB sack (-135). 

• The Laker defense has 44 QB hurries and 36 pass breakups in 2022. 

10 WIN SEASONS
• Grand Valley State has won 10 or more games 17 times in the 50-year history of the program, including 15 times since 2001.

• GVSU has won a total of four national championships (2002, 2003, 2005, 2006) in program history.

• The Lakers have made six NCAA championship appearances (2001, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2009) in program history.

•  GVSU has made a total of 21 playoff appearances in program history, with the most recent coming in 2021.

• GVSU holds the Division II record for the longest winning streak at 40 consecutive wins from 2005-2007. The Lakers won two national championships during that span.
