THE SERIES
Grand Valley State leads the all-time series with Ferris State by a 29-22-1 margin. The Lakers have won 16-of-the-last-27 meetings between the schools. GVSU is 15-10-1 at Top Taggart Field versus the Bulldogs and 14-12 at Lubbers Stadium. GVSU holds a 12-8 advantage when either team or both are ranked since 2001.  

• The last four regular season matchups have been decided by seven points or less and by a combined 17 points total.

• This will be the third 1-2 meeting for GVSU all-time. The #1 Lakers defeated #2 Valdosta State in the 2002 title game 31-24…#1 GVSU defeated #2 Northwest Missouri State 17-14 in the 2006 title game.

• This will be the 90th game where either GV or an opponent are ranked #1 since 2002, with 87 of the games featuring the #1 Lakers. GVSU is 83-6 in the previous games featuring a #1-ranked team.

• Junior QB Cade Peterson has completed 73-of-123 passes for 1,227 yards and eight TDs, while rushing for 190 yards and four TDs...Averaging 186.2 yards passing  per game...Peterson has passed for 3,793 yards and 39 TDs, while rushing for 905 yards and 12 TDs in his career...Accounted for 4,698 yards of total offense in his career.  

• Senior RB Jack Provencher has rushed for 240 yards on 26 carries and is averaging 9.2 yards per carry...Provencher, who became the 40th player in GVSU history to reach the 1,000-yard career rushing mark (1,138), has 16 career rushing TDs..In addition, he has 49 receptions for 408 yards and eight TDs...Needs one catch become the eighth player in Laker football history to reach the 1,000-yard rushing/50 reception mark. 

• Sophomore WR Jahdae Walker leads GVSU in receptions (19), receiving yards 388 yards (20.4 ypc) and receiving TDs (4). Walker is averaging 64.7 yards receiving per game...He hauled in four catches for 132 yards vs. Mines and four for 97 yards vs. Pueblo.   

• Sophomore WR Jaylon Tillman hauled in a career-high five catches for a career-high 99 yards and a TD at Wayne State...Tillman ranks third in receptions (11) and yards (157) for the Lakers.  

• Senior WR Jacob Miller has seven receptions for 34 yards and one TD this season...Hauled in a 58-yard TD pass vs. SVSU...Caught 49 passes for 682 yards and eight TDs in his career.

• Sophomore WR Cody Tierney ranks second in receptions (17), yards (251) and TD catches (2) this season...Recorded first 100-yard receiving game in his career with three for 101 yards and two TDs at AIC..Tierney has 51 career receptions for 662 yards and four TDs. 

• Sophomore WR Kyle Nott has three carries for 23 yards and a TD, while catching five passes pass for 55 yards...Nott is averaging 14.4 yards per touch in his career. 
• Redshirt freshman punter Trace Hrgich is averaging 43.8 yards per punt with a long of 61 yards...Hrgich has dropped seven punts inside the opponents 20 yard line, with four over 50 yards...Named GLIAC Special Teams Player of the Week after averaging 48.5 yards on four punts vs. SVSU...The 48.5 ypp average ranks sixth all-time in a single-game.  

• Sophomore PK Kollin Kralapp hit a career-long 40-yard field goal and was 9-fo-9 in point after attempts versus Lincoln...Named the GLIAC Special Teams Player of the Week...Kralapp is 3-for-3 this season and 5-for-5 in his career in field goals.

• Junior LB Abe Swanson leads GVSU in tackles with 46, while recording 2.5 TFL (-8), five QB hurries and one interception...Named GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week after his 12-tackle, 1.0 TFL (-5) and one interception performance vs. SVSU...Swanson has 172 career tackles, 15.5 TFL (-62), 4.5 QB sacks (-25) and three interceptions in his career.

• Senior safety Antonio Strong has tallied 17 tackles and three pass breakups...Strong has 123 tackles, four interceptions, six PBU's and three forced fumbles in his career.

• Junior DE Christian McCarroll has 15 tackles, 6.0 TFL (-34), seven QB hurries, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery ...Recorded 7.0 tackles, 2.0 TFL (-15), 1.0 QB sacks (-14) vs. SVSU...Named GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week with three tackles, 3.0 TFL (-18), 1.0 QB sacks (-4) and a forced fumble vs. WSU...McCarroll has 72 tackles, 11.0 TFL (-47) and 5.0 QB sacks (-29) in his career.

• Junior DE Colton Hyble has recorded 17 tackles, 3.0 TFL (-19) and 1.5 QB sacks (17) this season...Hyble has 51 tackles and 9.0 TFL (-32) in his career. 

• Junior DT Seth Hoonhorst has nine tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss and 1.0 QB sacks this season..Hoonhorst tallied four tackles, 1.0 QB sacks (-8) and 1.5 TFL (-8) versus Mines...Recorded 46 tackles, 7.0 TFL and 2.0 QB sacks in his career. 

• Sophomore DT Jack Gilchrist is third on the team in total tackles with 20, while also recording 3.5 TFL (-12) and 2.5 QB sacks (-11)...Gilchrist has 44 career tackles, 7.5 TFL (-36), 4.5 QB sacks (-34) in his career. 


• Senior DT Nate Umlor has eight tackles, 1.5 QB sacks (-2), 1.5 TFL, one pass break up and one QB hurry...Umlor has 28 stops 2.0 TFL and 2.0 QB sacks in his career. 

• Sophomore SS Ian Kennelly has nine tackles, one fumble recovery and a forced fumble this season..Kennelly tallied six tackles, forced a fumble and recovered a fumble vs. Mines.Kennelly has 42 tackles, four pass breakups, two interceptions and two fumble recoveries in his career. 

• Redshirt freshman Jay'viar Suggs has recorded 10 tackles, 2.0 QB sacks (-9), 4.0 TFL (-11) this season. 

• Sophomore SS Damonte McCurdy ranks second on the squad in tackles with 27, while picking off one pass and recording four pass deflections...McCurdy has 82 tackles, 4.5 TFL and two INTs in his career.  

• Redshirt freshman CB Terez Reid has 14 tackles and one PBU. 

• LB Jake Archbold has tallied 14, while also recording 2.5 TFL (-6) and .5 QB sacks (-2) in 2022. 

• Sophomore CB Nyzier Fourqurean has 11 stops, one interception, one fumble recovery and a team-high eight pass breakups this season...Tallied three pass breakups and picked off a pass vs. SVSU...Notched three pass breakups at AIC.  

• Senior LB Damon Wesley has 17 tackles and 2.0 TFL (-8)...Wesley has 74 stops and 3.0 TFL in his career. 

• FS Cole Patritto has recorded 17 tackles and tallied one pass breakup this season...Recorded 7.0 tackles vs. SVSU. 

• Anthony Cardamone has 15 tackles, 3.5 TFL (-24) and 2.0 QB sacks (-22) this season....Cardamone tallied 4.0 tackles, 1.0 TFL and a QB sack vs. SVSU.

• Kollin Kralapp's 40 field goal vs. Lincoln was the first time since 2016 that GVSU has connected on a field goal of 40 yards or more. Joel Schipper converted a 47-yard field goal in 2016.

• Grand Valley State is the winningest  Division II program in the country, boasting a record of 425-148-3 (.738) in 50 years of playing football. In addition, GVSU is also the winningest GLIAC program all-time with a 305-77-3 mark (.795).

• Grand Valley State has won 10 or more games 17 times in the 50-year history of the program, including 15 times since 2001.

• GVSU has won a total of four national championships (2002, 2003, 2005, 2006) in program history.

•  GVSU has made a total of 21 playoff appearances in program history, with the most recent coming in 2021.

• GVSU holds the Division II record for the longest winning streak at 40 consecutive wins from 2005-2007. The Lakers won two national championships during that span.

• GVSU has led the nation in attendance for eight consecutive years and the Lakers are off to another great start with the three games drawing a combined 42,751 fans (14,584).
