Grand Valley State Volleyball is on the road again as they travel to Ferris State on Thursday, Sept. 23, and Davenport on Friday, Sept. 24. This will be the eleventh and twelfth match in a row on the road, as the Lakers won't open up at home until Saturday, Oct. 2.
The Lakers are first in the GLIAC South Division and are 2-0 in GLIAC play. Coming off wins over Michigan Tech and Northern Michigan, the Lakers are looking to extend their five game winning streak against local conference opponents.
Currently, GVSU is leading the GLIAC in kill percentage (.249) and blocks (94). Junior Sarah Wight is second in the GLIAC in blocks per set (1.31) and junior setter Rachel Jacquay is third in the GLIAC in assists per set (10.49).
The Lakers will play Ferris State on Thursday, Sept. 23, at 7:00 p.m. in Big Rapids, MI. The Bulldogs are 5-4 overall and are 0-2 in the GLIAC after falling to Michigan Tech and Northern MIchigan. The Lakers are leading the series against the local rivals 68-55.
GVSU will take on the Davenport Panthers on Friday, Sept. 24 at 7:00 p.m. in Grand Rapids, MI. The Panthers are 6-4 overall and 1-1 in conference play after defeating Northern Michigan. Attacker Hayley Kreiger leads the GLIAC in kills (168) and kills per set (4.10). The Lakers are looking to tie the series record against the Panthers (4-5) on Friday night.
