Grand Valley State athletics would like to reinforce the spectator guidelines when attending GVSU Athletic events on the Allendale campus.
"The ability to physically distance at our outdoor venues will create a safe opportunity for fans and spectators to enjoy our athletic events," said GVSU Director of Athletics. "It is with great caution that we open this door to our communities as the risk for COVID exposure does not come while just spectating an event, but rather the intermingling between fans and families before and after events. One positive case could cause an entire team to pause for weeks or worse end its season. We ask that you comply with the protocols listed that will allow for limited fan access," added Becker
Spectators for home athletic events will be limited with restricted capacity of 250. In order to minimize the risks and potential exposure of COVID-19 for spectators, student-athletes and staff, the following protocols will be implemented and required. At all athletic contests, facial coverings are required and social distancing should be observed at all times.
-Face coverings are required for both indoor and outdoor events.
-Social distancing should be observed.
-Family units are permitted to sit together. A family unit is considered persons who reside at the same residence.
-No tailgating permitted at any event.
-No contact with student-athletes or staff, prior to or at the completion of games; whether in, on or around GVSU facilities.
-Abide by all facility signage and instructions in relation to COVID-19 policies and procedures
-Self-screening should be completed prior to traveling to a Grand Valley State Athletic Event. If symptoms are present or you have been directly exposed to COVID-19, please refrain from attending any athletic events.
