BIG RAPIDS, Mich. — The Grand Valley State Lakers fell, 68-65, to the Ferris State Bulldogs Friday (Feb. 5) at Jim Wink Arena. The Lakers have now lost three straight games to drop to 4-4 on the season while the Bulldogs improve to 5-4 in GLIAC play.

Four Lakers scored in double figures, led by 19 points from Jake Van Tubbergen, who also moved into a tie for eighth in Laker history for rebounds with nine on the day. Christian Negron finished a rebound shy of a double-double while Jordan Harris and Isaac Gassman also hit double-digits in scoring.

Trailing for much of the game, the Lakers had a chance at a game-tying three with under five seconds left in regulation, but the shot attempt fell short. The Lakers last two losses have come by one possession and featured a buzzer-beating chance to force overtime.

The Lakers aim for a split with the Bulldogs Saturday at 3 PM.
