The Grand Valley State women's volleyball team will play with Hillsdale College on Thursday, Dec 2 at 2:30 p.m in the NCAA DII Midwest Regional Quarterfinals. 

This will be the Lakers first NCAA appearance since 2015, where GVSU fell in the opening round to Lewis University. In 2014, the Lakers fell in the NCAA Final Four to Southwest Minnesota State University. This year the Lakers are coming into the tournament with an overall record of 17-9 after falling to Davenport in the GLIAC Tournament and received an at-large bid into the NCAA tournament. Hillsdale enters with an overall record of 27-4 and an undefeated conference record in the GMAC. 

The last regular season matchup between Grand Valley State and Hillsdale was in 2016 at GVSU, where the Lakers fell to the Chargers in four sets. The last NCAA Tournament matchup between the Lakers and Chargers was in 2012. GVSU fell to Hillsdale in four sets in the first round of the tournament. Grand Valley State currently leads the overall series record between the Lakers and the Chargers 64-16.
