GVSU Volleyball Set to Play Parkside in Home Opener

Lakers Host Parkside and Purdue Northwest on Saturday and Sunday

After 12 matches on the road, the Grand Valley State volleyball team will finally open up at home against the University of Wisconsin Parkside on Saturday, Oct. 2 at 1:00 p.m. They will also host Purdue University Northwest on Sunday, Oct. 3 at 1:00 p.m.

Coming off a conference win at Davenport, the Lakers are currently leading the GLIAC South Division with a conference record of 3-1 and overall record of 7-5.

Junior Sarah Wight sits in second in blocks per set (1.34) and is fifth in kills (139) and kill percentage (.318) within the GLIAC. Junior Setter Rachel Jacquay is third in the GLIAC in assists per set (10.52). The Lakers are leading the GLIAC in kill percentage (.233) and blocks (118). 

On Saturday, Oct. 2, the Lakers will host Parkside at 1:00 p.m. The Rangers are 1-1 in the GLIAC and are 4-7 overall. The Lakers lead the overall series against the Rangers 14-7. 

The Lakers are back in action on Sunday, Oct. 3, as they host Purdue Northwest at 1:00 p.m. The Pride are 0-2 in the conference and are 1-9 overall. The Lakers have never fallen to the Pride, as they lead the overall series 8-0.
