AUBURNDALE, Fla. – The Grand Valley State baseball team dropped a 2-1 decision against Wayne State College in 11 innings on Sunday afternoon. The Lakers fall to 10-4 overall and will wrap up their 12-game Florida trip tomorrow morning (Mar. 9) at 9:00 AM vs. Winona State in a single nine inning game.

Ryan Blake-Jones ripped a double to left field, scoring senior
Joe Laudont, to give the Lakers a 1-0 lead. Wayne State would answer in the sixth inning on a single to left and scored on an RBI single in the bottom of the 11th inning to walk it off against the Lakers.

Mark Scannell put together an impressive start on the mound, throwing seven innings, while allowing seven hits, one run, three walks, and striking out four batters, but was given a no-decision. Junior
Michael Barno (0-1) threw three scoreless innings in relief before giving up the walk-off single in the 11
th to get tagged with the loss.
The Lakers were held to just six hits on the day with Blake-Jones recording a team-high two hits.
