 Meyo Meet ResultsÂ
The Grand Valley State track and field teams completed the weekend action and showed a strong performance at the Akron Invitational and Notre Dame Meyo Meet, including four school records.Â

For the second time this season,
Allie Ludge made GVSU history and broke a school record. Ludge broke the previous women's mile record held by Monica Kinney in 2011 after finishing the race in 4:39.34 and claiming third place at the Meyo Meet. Also placing third for the Lakers was
Angelica Floyd in the 60m dash with a time of 7.72 seconds.Â

Two-time GLIAC Track Athlete of the Week,
Nicole Sreenan, dominated her competition yet again and took first place in the 400m after finishing the race in 54.13 seconds, breaking the previous GVSU record of 54.97. The women's 4x400 relay team of Sreenan,
Asia Smith,
Sarah Beulla and
Jessica Eby took second place in 3:47.81 and earned a provisional qualification.Â

Reigning weight throw National Champion,
Bobbie Goodwin, added another first place finish to her resume at the Akron Invitational with a launch of 20.42m. Sophomore
Franesha Robinson-Mitchell placed third in the weight throw with an 18.30m toss. After tying her school record of 12.04m last Saturday,
Anna Obi broke her own distance with a jump of 12.11m, claiming fourth place. GLIAC Field Athlete of the Week,
Elli Kimes, placed third in the pole vault with a 4.00m clear at the Akron Invitational.Â

Junior
Dennis Mbuta was the fourth and final Laker to break a school record on Saturday. Mbuta took first place in the men's mile at the Meyo Meet after finishing the race in 4:03.84. Senior
Emmanuel Arop finished fourth in the 60m dash with a 6.88 second finish.Â
Tyler Kirkwood (8.43) and
Tyler Mansfield (8.47) placed fifth and sixth, respectively, in the 60m hurdles.Â

The men's 4x400m relay team of
Milton Toliver,
Daniel Walker,
Alexander Porter and
Andrew McFarland claimed second place in 3:16.11.Â

Justin Scavarda defeated the competition in the shot put with a throw of 17.10m, good for a provisional qualification. In the men's weight throw, Scavarda (19.38m) and
Leon White (18.50m) represented GVSU from the second and fifth places, respectively.Â

The Lakers return to action next weekend (Feb. 14-15) for the annual GVSU Big Meet at the Kelly Family Sports Center.Â
