Grand Valley State dropped a 6-2 decision to #15 Augustana Saturday afternoon. The Lakers will conclude its spring trip to Florida Sunday with a twinbill versus West Chester beginning at 3 p.m.

The Lakers scored first as 3B Anthony Cocco walked and moved to third on a double off the bat of 1B Ryan Blake-Jones. Zach Berry walked to load the bases, followed by CF Drake Ellens fielders choice that scored  Cocco. Augustana scored four runs on four hits in the bottom of the fifth, but the Lakers got a run back in the top of the sixth as 2B Alex Mandeville single home Chase Carpenter who was hit by a pitch earlier in the inning. The Vikings added a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh for the final margin. 

Ellens collected a pair of hits and drove in a run, while Blake-Jones also collected a pair of hits. Mandeville drove in one run. Starter Christian Mercure was tagged with the loss, yielding four earned runs on seven hits in 4.2 innings of work.
