Grand Valley State dropped a 6-2 decision at Division 1 foe Central Michigan Tuesday (March 26) afternoon in Mt. Pleasant, Mich. GVSU falls to 8-12 overall, while the Chippewas improve to 16-7. The Lakers will return to action Friday (March 29) at Saginaw Valley State to begin a four-game series. First pitch for game one is 4 p.m.

Drake Ellens doubled with one out and then scored when SS
Parker Murdie reached on an error. CMU put three on the board in the bottom of the first on two hits and a Laker error, followed by a single run in the second and two more in the third. The Lakers scored a single run in the top of the fifth when Ellens walked, advanced to second on a passed ball and third on a Murdie groundout. 1B
Ryan Blake-Jones doubled to left to score Ellens and cut the Chippewa lead to four (6-2). The Lakers were unable to score in their final four at bats, while tfive GVSU pitchers held Central Michigan off the scoreboard in its final five at bats, limiting the Chippewas to two hits, while striking out five.
Ellens was 1-for-3 with two walks and two runs scored, while Murdie, Blake-Jones and
Riley Creamer each collected a hit for the Lakers.
