INDIANAPOLIS – The No. 22 Grand Valley State Lakers fell to the No. 12 Indianapolis Greyhounds Sunday afternoon in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) action at Key Stadium. The Lakers are now 6-3 on the year and 3-1 in GLIAC play while the Greyhounds improve to 8-1 and 5-0 in the conference.
Carly Shisler scored four goals, giving her 10 for the weekend, while recording six draw controls and an assist.
Sarah Stagaard scored twice and
Maggie Hammer once.
Ally Barian caused three turnovers while three more Lakers caused two.
The teams traded goals within the first minute and a half before UIndy rattled off three straight goals. The Lakers answered with back-to-back tallies of their own to get back within one (4-3). The Greyhounds would then score seven straight goals before the Lakers found the back of the cage before the half to make it an 11-4 score at intermission.
The Laker defense turned up the intensity in the second half, holding Indianapolis to just a pair of goals. They would rattle off three straight tallies to get back within six, but the clock would run out
