Grand Valley State dropped a GLIAC twinbill at Wayne State Saturday afternoon, losing the first game 3-0 and the nightcap 7-2. GVSU will square off against the Warriors Sunday with another doubleheader (7/9) beginning at 1 p.m.

Junior LHP Cade Cintorino took the loss in game one, yielding three runs, two of which were earned, on six hits with three strikeouts in 6.0 innings. The Laker offense managed just four hits.In game two,  Wayne State led 6-0 before OF Chase Carpenter hit a solo HR to right in the seventh and the Lakers added a second run in the top of the ninth when Christian Faust plated Jonathan Catapano with a groudout. 3B Anthony Cocco recorded two hits for GVSU in game two. Christian Mercure was tagged with the loss, yielding five runs, two of which were earned, in 4.2 innings.
