SERIES INFORMATION - Grand Valley State leads the all-time series with Saginaw Valley State by a 37-11 margin and have won seven consecutive and 15-of-the-last-16 games in the series. GVSU claimed a 31-28 victory over the Cardinals a year ago in University Center and tallied a 34-6 victory over the SVSU in the last meeting in Allendale. The Lakers sport a record of 22-2 at Lubbers Stadium versus the Cardinals and a 15-9 mark at Wickes Stadium. From 2002 - 2010, Grand Valley State was ranked either No. 1 or No. 2 in 10 of the 11 meetings with the Cardinals. The lone time SVSU has been ranked higher than GVSU was in the 2003 playoffs and GVSU claimed a 10-3 win at Saginaw Valley State in the playoffs and eventually went on to win the National Championship.

• Aryuan Cain-Veasey has broke the 100-yard rushing mark three times in four games played this season.

He was the first Laker running back to reach to the 200-yard rushing mark since Marty Carter went for 218 yards on 11 carries at Wayne State in 2017.

• Bryce Young-Walls toted the ball a career-high 23 times for 90 yards and a TD at Northwood. 

• GVSU was 11-for-15 on third down conversions at Northwood (.733), including a perfect 8-for-8 in the second half.

• GVSU's 319 rushing yards vs. Edinboro marked the most rushing yards for a Laker offense since a 345 yard effort vs. Lake Erie in 2016.

• The Lakers 572 yards of total offense vs. Edinboro was the most since a 572 yard outing vs. Tiffin in 2014. 

• GVSU held two of its first three opponents (Edinboro and Northwood) without an offensive TD. Prior to Edinboro the last time the Lakers have held an opponent without an offensive TD was Northern Michigan (28-3) in 2017.

• RS Freshman Daevon Anderson has nine catches for 301yards and three TDs in three games. Anderson caught two passes (45 and 74 TD) for 119 yards and a touchdown in his first collegiae game vs. Delta State. He followed that up with four-receptions for 121 yards and two TD effort at Northwood. Daevon is averaging 33.4 ypr and a TD every three receptions.

GLIAC DEFENSIVE POW
Grand Valley State senior linebacker Isaiah Nkansah was named the D2Football.com National and GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts in the Lakers' 28-24 win over Delta State. Nkansah recorded a career-high and the third-best, single-game total tackles mark in GVSU football history with 20 stops (6 solo/14 assisted), while adding two tackles for loss (-10) and two QB sacks (-10). Nkansah played a key role in the Lakers' defense holding Delta State to three consecutive field goal attempts (2 missed/1 blocked) and a fourth quarter goal line stand from the 1-yard line that netted -3 yards.  His two QB sacks came at crucial times, the second on a third down when DSU needed a first down to keep a drive alive late in the fourth quarter. Nkansah, who leads the GLIAC in tackles (25) in 2019, has recorded 165 career stops and 13.5 tackles for loss.

GLIAC OFFENSIVE POW
Grand Valley State sophomore running back Aryuan Cain-Veasey was named the GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts in the Lakers' 35-10 win over Edinboro. Cain-Veasey, who rushed for a career-high 200 yards and three touchdowns on just 11 carries, scored on runs of 48, 94 and 29 yards. In addition, he averaged 18.2 yards per carry and his 94 yard TD run was the third longest in program history, while also becoming the 22nd player to reach the 200-yard rushing mark in a single-game. In 2018, Cain-Veasey rushed for 210 yards and one TD on 30 carries.
