CALEDONIA, Mich. — The No. 13 Grand Valley State Lakers clinched an outright Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) regular season championship with a 19-1 win over the Davenport Panthers in the regular season finale Friday night. The Lakers won their fourth straight match and forced a first half running clock for the third time in a row. GVSU finishes the regular season 13-4 overall and 11-1 in conference play.
The Lakers will have home field advantage and serve as the one-seed in the GLIAC Tournament next weekend, beginning with Friday's semifinals. The Lakers swept the cross-town foe Panthers this season after another big win Friday.
Erika Neumen led the Lakers with four goals while
Meggan Loyd and
Abbi O'Neal contributed three goals apiece.
