BIG RAPIDS, Mich. – The top-ranked Grand Valley State Lakers pulled out a double-overtime win, 2-1, over the No. 12 Ferris State Bulldogs Friday evening to clinch their 14^th consecutive Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) regular season championship. The Lakers, who still have two matches left this year, improve to 15-0-1 on the season and 7-0-0 in GLIAC play while the Bulldogs, who had their program-best 14-match unbeaten streak snapped, fall to 12-2-2 on the year and 4-1-2 in the league.

After a scoreless first half, the Bulldogs struck first at the hour mark, putting the Lakers behind for the first time this season. Just six minutes later, a handball in the penalty area gave the Lakers a PK, which Cecilia Steinwascher converted for her first goal of the season.

That score would hold until the 105', when a corner kick, inserted by Steinwascher, was juggled around in front of goal before Haley Dehaan volleyed the ball to herself and lofted a shot over the Bulldog keeper and into the net to ignite the dog pile and celebrate a GLIAC title.
