20 total NCAA provisional qualifying marks were hit in tonight's regular season finale, with the highlight of the meet coming from an automatic mark coming from pole vaulter
Jaime Roberts. The senior vaulter scored a mark of 4.08m (13' 4.5") to give her third place on the afternoon.
19 provisional qualifying marks were hit tonight, with a majority coming in the field events.
Mariah Mansperger upped her mark in the weight throw with a toss of 17.38m (57' 0.25"), placing her 26th in the country as the Division II National Championships inch closer and closer.
Dajsha Avery also upped her mark in the shot put by hitting a mark of 14.54m (47' 8.50"), moving her up to 10th in Division II, and
Beatriz Indurain ran the 60m hurdle preliminaries in a time of 8.53 seconds to move her up to fifth in the Division II rankings for the event. On the men's side,
Hunter Weeks cleared 2.10m (6' 10.75") in the high jump, placing him in a tie for 10th nationally.
Candice Davis Price set a new Kelly Family Sports Center record in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.13. The unattached runner narrowly beat out the previous record of 8.16, originally set in 2010 by Tiffany Ofili of Adidas.
With the regular season concluded, Grand Valley State sets their sights on defending their conference titles at the 2016 GLIAC Championships on February 27-28, hosted by Tiffin University in Tiffin, Ohio. The Laker women are gunning for their 17th consecutive title, while the men are looking to win their seventh straight title.
