Grand Valley State leads the all-time series by a 32-5 margin, including 27 straight wins. The Lakers are 16-2 at Lubbers Stadium and 16-3 at Wayne State. The average margin of victory in the 27-game Laker winning streak is 35.5-12.2 and GVSU has scored 40 or more points nine times and held WSU to 10 points or less 11 times in the last 27 games. The Lakers claimed a 38-17 victory over the Warriors a year ago in Detroit. WSU's last win in the series was in 1984 (30-3).

• Grand Valley State is in its 46th season of football and sports a 381-137-3 all-time record. GVSU's .7341 winning percentage tops all of college football all-time, regardless of division, that have played at least 500 games. Michigan is second (.7320) and Notre Dame third (.7302).
• Grand Valley State remained #2 in the AFCA Division II Coaches' poll with 712 points after a 62-56 double overtime victory at Saginaw Valley State. NW Missouri State is #1 with all 30 first place votes and 750 points.

Terrell Dorsey rushed for an overtime TD and Carter scored the game-winner with a 2-yard TD run.
Carter led the Lakers with 200 rushing yards and two TDs on 34 carries, while Smith hauled in six passes for 162 yards and two TDs.

• The Lakers have outscored their first eight opponents 134-14 in the first quarter and 111-43 in the second quarter for a first half total of 245-57. Grand Valley State did not yield either a first half or rushing TD until the eighth game of the season. After not giving up a TD in the first half of the first seven games, the Lakers have not yielded a TD in the second half of the last two games nine and 10.

Carter tallied a record-setting performance with 298 yards and three touchdowns on 20 carries in a 50-24 victory over Northern Michigan (9/17) in which he was named the D2Football.com National Offensive Player of the Week and the GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week....Carter's rushing total was a GVSU single-game record and tied for the 10th-best, single-game total in GLIAC history...Former Laker Chris Robinson previously held the GV record with 261 yards on 33 carries at Findlay in 2014.
