Brooke Johnson competed in the Heptathlon on the first day of the GLIAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Hillsdale College.
The freshmen competed in four events in the Heptathlon: the 100 meter hurdles, the high jump, the shot put, and the 200 meter dash. Peterson placed as high as eighth in the high jump with a mark of 1.46 meters (4' 9.5") to earn 577 points in the event. Johnson scored two top 10 finishes on the day. She finished fourth in the shot put with a throw of 9.82 meters (32' 2.5") to earn 518 points, and seventh in the high jump with a mark of 1.49 meters (4' 10.5") to earn 610 points.
The women's heptathlon and men's decathlon will be completed on Thursday (Apr. 30) in Day 2 of the Championships. Thursday's running and field events will begin at 2:30 p.m.
