#2 Lakers Poised to Begin Postseason Play, Defense of GLIAC Title

Having already defended last season's regular season conference title, the Grand Valley State women's soccer team now sets it's sights on the GLIAC tournament title.

The defense of that title begins on Tuesday, November 3rd, when the top seed Lakers take on #8 seed Malone, which beat Walsh 1-0 to secure the final spot in the tournament. It will be the second meeting between the two teams, with Grand Valley taking the first matchup handily by a score of 10-0 at Malone on September 27th.

In that game, eight different Lakers scored a goal, including freshmen Samantha Riga, Tara Lierman and Lindsay Ebeling. Grand Valley would record a team shutout of the Pioneers by failing to yield a single shot in the contest.
