Lakers Beat Findlay, 6-3, to Continue Winning Streak

FINDLAY, Ohio - The Grand Valley State men's tennis team moved its winning streak to four straight on Saturday (Feb. 22), defeating Findlay 6-3 to move to 4-0 on the season and 2-0 in GLIAC play. The Lakers will finish their Ohio road trip on Sunday (Feb. 23) with a 10 a.m. match against Tiffin.

The day began with the Lakers taking two out of three doubles matches, earning victories at both No. 2 and No. 3 doubles. The team of Jack Heiniger and Quinn Sylow won 8-4 at the No. 2 flight, while Ben Esh-Nauta and Andrew Darrell paired up for an 8-2 win at No. 3 doubles.

In singles, GVSU swept the No. 3 through No. 6 flights, with Billy Heckman leading the way at No. 3 singles where he picked up a 6-1, 6-1 victory. Heiniger at No. 4 singles needed to come from behind in a three-set match, but came away with a 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 win. Andrew Bole took his No. 5 singles match, 6-2, 6-1, while Michael Kaye won a 6-2, 6-3 match at No. 6 singles.
