ALLENDALE – Grand Valley State claimed a pair of wins in the pool Saturday (Oct. 18) versus Division I foe Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The Laker women captured a 129-114 victory, while the Laker men were impressive in a 153-90 win. The Lakers are back in the pool on Friday, Oct. 24, when they compete against Calvin College and Hillsdale.
The Laker women won seven events, highlighted by double event winners Sam Postmus and
Sarah Roeser. Postmus claimed wins in the 400 IM and 500 freestyle, while Roeser touched first in 50 and 100 freestyle. In addition, the Laker depth was key placing two among the top three individually in seven events.
The GVSU men were dominent, winning 10 events and placing two among the top three in seven events. GVSU also took the top three spots in the 200 free and the 100 back.
Gianni Ferrero captured wins in the 200 free and 100 butterfly, breaking the pool record in the butterfly (47.96) originally set by Michael Griffith.
Milan Medo touched the wall first in the 50 free and 100 breaststroke, while touching second in the 100 free.
