Men's Tennis Picks Up 8-1 Win Over Ohio Dominican

GRANDVILLE, Mich. - The Grand Valley State men's tennis team picked up its sixth straight GLIAC win with an 8-1 victory over Ohio Dominican on Saturday afternoon at the Ramblewood Tennis Club.

GVSU is now 10-9 on the season and more importantly 6-1 in conference action. Ohio Dominican falls to 2-12 on the season and 1-5 in GLIAC play.

The Lakers picked up two points in doubles play thanks to a hard fought win at the No. 2 spot by senior Benny Delgado-Rochas (Tel Aviv, Israel) and sophomore Bryan Hodges (Bloomfield, Mich.) for a 9-7 victory.

In singles competition, Delgado-Rochas once again proved his endurance taking the match in three sets, 1-6, 6-4, 10-7 at No. 2 singles.  Freshman John McDonald (Farmington, Mich.) also won in three sets, 2-6, 6-3, 7-5 at No. 6 singles.

The Lakers continue conference play in a mid-week match against Northwood on April 3 at 3 p.m. in Allendale, Mich.
