Women's Tennis Grabs an 8-1 Decision against Lewis

Lockport, Ill. - #15 Grand Valley State grabbed an 8-1 victory on Saturday (Feb. 19) over Lewis to move to 18-0 on the season. The pairing of Chelsea Johnston and Darylann Trout won their #1 doubles match 8-3. Johnston won her #3 singles match 6-0, 6-2 while Trout won her #4 singles match 6-0, 6-0.

Niki Shipman claimed a victory in #2 singles by a 6-1, 6-1 score, while Anne Marie Morin claimed victory in #5 singles with a 6-0, 6-0 decision. In #2 doubles, Alyssa Lucas and Katelyn Schaffer claimed an 8-0 victory.

Lewis defaulted matches at #6 singles and #3 doubles due to a lack of players.

The Lakers are back in action on Friday (Feb. 25) when they take on DePauw.
