Grand Valley State held Tiffin without a shot on goal in the second half in a 7-0 win. The No. 4 Lakers put 17 shots on frame, including two goals from junior Jaleen Dingledine. GVSU held the Dragons to just four shots overall, while Grand Valley State took 30. The Lakers (9-0-1, 4-0 GLIAC) travel to Midland, Mich. to take on Northwood for their next match on Friday, Oct. 2 at 2:00 p.m.
Dingledine started the scoring at the 11:46 mark when she took a pass from freshman Kayla Addison, putting it through the left side of the net from seven yards out. GVSU recorded its second goal of the match during the 40th minute when senior Caitlin Boyak notched her second goal of the season, knocking the ball through after a Erin Hilbert corner kick, giving Grand Valley State the 2-0 lead. Just seven minutes later senior defender Natalja Stanski scored her first goal of the year off of a penalty kick, giving the Lakers the 3-0 lead at halftime.
During the second half of play the Lakers scored just three minutes into the half when Addison simply outran everyone down the left side of the field crossing it over to the middle and scoring her fourth goal of the year, giving Grand Valley State the 4-0 lead. Dingledine scored her second goal of the game, her third of the season, when she rebounded a blocked shot putting it into the net at 55:51. At the 81:23 mark, GVSU recorded it sixth goal of the match when senior forward Irie Dennis turned at 18 yards and put the ball in the back of the net from 12 yards out to record her third goal of the season. With just 30 seconds left to play sophomore Lindsey Marlow added her second goal of the year giving the Lakers a 7-0 win.
Chelsea Parise played 56:39 minutes of scoreless soccer, while recording one save. The tough Laker defense recorded its seventh shut out victory this season.
