Lakers Finish Ninth at NCAA Super Regional

ALLENDALE, Mich. - Grand Valley State shot a three-day total of 883 (+31) to finish ninth at the NCAA DII Men's Midwest/South Central Regional on Wednesday. The top five finishers from the event advanced on to the NCAA National Championships. Tyler Hering led GVSU with a +3, which tied him for ninth place.

Hering led off the tournament with a 69 on day one and then finished with 216 (+3) for his ninth-place finish. Matt Malloure was the second Laker in the standings, finishing in a tie for 38th place with a nine-over 222. Ben Brooks was one stroke behind him, putting him in a tie for 45th place with a 223 (+10). Josh Burt and Matt Johnson both finished with a 229 (+!6), putting them in a tie for 76th place.

Wayne State won the event with an 859 (+7) and Northeastern State claimed a second-place finish with an 865 (+13). Central Missouri St. (+19), Ferris State (+23) and Indianapolis (+23) rounded out the top five.
