Muscle Shoals, Ala. - The University of North Alabama posted a one-over-par 289 and take a three stroke lead on the opening day of the UNA Spring Classic at the Robert Trent Jones at the Shoals Fighting Joe Course. UNA is followed by Washburn (292), Central Missouri State (296) and Indianapolis (298). Grand Valley State is 10th with a team score of 308. The tournament will resume with an 8 a.m. shotgun start on Tuesday.

Matt Malloure carded an opening round score of 75 and is tied for 19th at three-over-par. Tyler Hering shot a four-over-par 76 and is tied for 23rd, while Ben Brooks opened with a 78 (T-45th). Matt Johnson opened with a 79 and Josh Burt rounded out the Laker lineup with an 85.
