Lakers Finish Third At Indianapolis Invitational With A Three-Round Total Of 879

Indianapolis, Ind. - Grand Valley State shot a final round 293 and finished third at the Indianapolis Invitational with a team score of 879. Indianapolis finished first with a 54-hole total of 870, followed by Ferris State's 874. The Lakers will host the NCAA Regional Tournament #1 Sept. 21 & 22 at HawksHead Golf Course in South Haven, Mich.

Freshman Ben Brooks (Cedar Spring, Mich.), playing in just his second collegiate tournament, finished third overall with a a one-over par 217. Junior Matt Malloure (Farmington Hills, Mich./Brother Rice) tied for 14th with a 223, while junior Josh Burt (Holt, Mich.) tied for 19th with a 225. Senior Tony Mango (Milford, Mich.) finished 36th with a 54-hole total of 232.
