Grand Valley State won eight events en route to a 137-67 GLIAC dual meet victory over Findlay Saturday afternoon at the GVSU Pool. GVSU will host Northern Michigan and Hillsdale in a double dual Saturday, Jan. 2.
The Lakers swept the top three spots in the 200 medley relay, then took first and second in the 1000 free. Erin Kinney touched first (11:00.77), followed by Ashley Berish (11:29.05). The Lakers also recorded a 1-2-3 finish in the 200 free as Katie Lawrie touched first (2:01.67), followed by Katie Czirr (2:01.82) and Jillian LaCosse (2:08.95). Erin Lynch won the 200 IM (2:17.95) and Alison Sante took top honors on the 1-meter board (221.90). Sara Moore was second on the 1-meter with a score of 192.55.
Anna Polkowski notched a firt-place finish in the 100 fly (1:02.05), followed by Taylor Heggen (1:04.01). Katelyn Childer touched second in the 100 free (56.53) and Erin Kinney was third (56.79). Kim Baughman claimed a first-place finish in the 100 back (1:03.05), while Liz Rodgers was second (1:04.71) and Allison Scholz third (1:04.77) to complete a 1-2-3 sweep. GVSU finished its scoring with a sweep in the 500 free. Erin Lynch was first (5:27.46), Ally Nagel second (5:27.85) and Megan Hahler third (5:28.79). The Lakers competed in exhibition only for the final four events.
